What Is the Suriname Business eVisa?
The Suriname Business eVisa is an electronic visa issued for short-term commercial travel to Suriname — conferences, meetings, investment visits, training or supervising projects. The eVisa system was launched after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduced an online application portal to streamline consular processing and replace paper-only embassy applications for many nationalities. VFS Global operates the official eVisa gateway on behalf of the Government of Suriname.
Applications are submitted at the official VFS portal (suriname.vfsevisa.com) or via DoVisa for guided completion and document review. You must upload a passport scan, passport-style photo and business supporting documents (invitation or letter of assignment). Once approved you receive an emailed confirmation — usually a PDF that you must present at check-in and on arrival; some airlines and immigration officers also accept a printed or mobile copy.
The eVisa simplifies pre-travel checks but does not guarantee entry — final admission remains at the discretion of Surinamese immigration officials. Recent policy changes returned visa requirements for specific countries on 1 May 2023 and the government now uses an online portal for Tourist Cards, Entry Fees and eVisas. The eVisa covers entry permission only and does not replace work or residence permits.
