What Is the Philippines eArrival Card?

The Philippines eArrival Card (also called the eTravel e-Arrival) is an official electronic arrival registration required for inbound travelers to the Philippines. Introduced following Public Advisory No. 2022-39 and implemented from 01 November 2022, the system replaced paper arrival cards and modernized passenger intake at international airports and seaports.

Applications are completed through the official Philippine Travel Information System at etravel.gov.ph or via DoVisa for guided submission, document checks, and expedited processing. On approval you receive an email confirmation and a downloadable QR code / PDF that airlines and immigration officers scan at departure check-in and on arrival at the port of entry. Processing options include Standard (24h), Rush (4h) and Super Rush (30 minutes).

The eArrival Card is a pre-arrival registration — it helps speed immigration processing but is not a substitute for a visa where one is required. Immigration officers make final admission decisions at the border; visa-exempt travelers still need a passport meeting entry rules and proof of onward travel or accommodation. Notably, the electronic arrival card requirement replaced the paper arrival card process mandated prior to November 2022.

Key facts: valid for 30 days single entry, confirmation is sent by email with a QR code, and you should keep the confirmation accessible for airline check-in and immigration. For full entry guidance see Philippines visa information and the official eTravel portal at etravel.gov.ph. When ready, Apply for your Philippines eArrival Card now.

Philippines Entry Requirements & Restrictions

Passport Validity

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival and have at least one blank page for the immigration stamp. See Bureau of Immigration for details.

Vaccination Requirements

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required only if you arrive from a country with yellow fever risk. No routine COVID-19 vaccine certificate is required for entry as of current guidance. See the official eTravel entry guidance at etravel.gov.ph/entry-guidelines.

Customs & Prohibited Items

The Philippines prohibits import of certain goods including narcotics, firearms and ammunition, pornographic material, and other contraband. Fresh or unprocessed foods may also be restricted. See the full list at Philippine Customs.

Medication & Special Items

If you carry prescription medication, bring the prescription or a doctor’s note. Importation of regulated products (large quantities of electronics, medicines, or drones) may require prior permits — consult Philippine Customs and the embassy guidance before travel.

Travel Insurance & Funds

Travel insurance is not mandatory for short stays but is strongly recommended. You should be ready to show a return/onward ticket, confirmed accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds during your stay.

Travel Tips for Philippines Visitors

The Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands with major gateways in Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. Main international arrival airports include Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in Manila, Clark International Airport (CRK) in Pampanga and Kalibo International Airport (KLO) for parts of the Visayas. Transfers to island destinations commonly continue by domestic flight, ferry or boat.

  • Best time to visit: November–April for drier weather; June–October brings more rain in many regions.
  • Currency: Philippine Peso (PHP). US dollars are sometimes accepted in tourist hubs, but carry local currency for most purchases.
  • Language: Filipino (Tagalog) is the national language; English is widely used in tourism, airports, hotels and government offices.
  • Time zone: Philippine Time is GMT+8 year-round.
  • Airport transfers: Allow extra time for domestic connections and ferry transfers — some resorts require early domestic flights or boat schedules.
  • Customs: Avoid bringing prohibited agricultural products or unapproved regulated items — declare electronics and high-value goods.
  • Local customs: Respect local dress codes in provincial towns; tipping is appreciated in service sectors but not mandatory.
  • Keep documents handy: Save your eArrival QR confirmation offline and print a copy in case airport Wi‑Fi is unreliable.
