What Guernsey may ask for

Not every traveller is asked for all of these. A valid passport is checked every time; the rest is a spot check at the border, and some items belong to a visa application rather than the crossing itself.

  • Passport valid for entire duration of your stay
  • Passport photo 45mm x 35mm, white background
  • Hotel booking or accommodation confirmation
  • Return flight ticket or onward travel itinerary
  • Proof of sufficient funds for your stay

Entry requirements for Seychellois travellers

These rules apply specifically to Seychellois passport holders entering Guernsey as tourists. Each one links to the official source where available.

  • Required

Travelers require a passport valid for the duration of stay in Guernsey

Travelers need a valid passport to enter Guernsey. The traveler's passport must remain valid throughout the traveler's stay in Guernsey.

    • Travelers can use an EU, EEA, or Swiss national ID card to enter the UK if: -They have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, or Jersey, Guernsey, or the Isle of Man's settlement schemes; -They have an EU Settlement Scheme family permit, or the equivalent from Jersey, Guernsey, or the Isle of Man; -They have a frontier worker permit; -They are an S2 Healthcare Visitor; -They are an EU, EEA, or Swiss national aged 18 or under traveling as part of a French school group using a France-UK school trip travel information form. Travelers who hold British citizenship in addition to another nationality cannot apply for an ETA and must travel to the UK with a valid British passport, Irish passport, or any other valid passport containing a certificate of entitlement. Under temporary guidance, an expired British passport issued in 1989 or later, accompanied by a valid ETA-eligible passport with matching personal details, may also be accepted at carrier discretion. Travelers intending to travel on an expired British passport should confirm acceptance with their carrier before travel. Additional exemptions apply to day-trippers arriving from France who may use a national ID if traveling with certain ferries through 2026. Check the source for more details on accepted travel documents.

Electronic travel authorization may be required for Transit

Travelers transiting through Guernsey who will not pass through border control (‘airside’ transit) do not require an ETA. Travelers required to pass through border control, such as when traveling on separate tickets or transferring between airports, must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to transit through Guernsey. Check the source for more details on transit exemptions. Travelers can submit an ETA application online. Once the application is approved, travelers receive their ETA confirmation electronically. An eTA is electronically linked to a passport and valid for up to 2 years for multiple entries. If travelers receive a new passport, they must apply for a new eTA. Different requirements may apply to visitors traveling directly to Guernsey who do not first pass through the immigration control in the United Kingdom.

    • The ETA requirement doesn't apply to: -Travelers with a valid visa; -Travelers with permission to live, work, or study in the United Kingdom (including settled or pre-settled status or right of abode); -Travelers with valid British overseas territories citizen passports; -Travelers with valid British National (Overseas) passports; -Travelers who live in Ireland traveling from Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, or the Isle of Man; -Minors traveling on the France-UK school trip travel scheme; -Travelers transiting through the United Kingdom via Manchester Airport (MAN) or Heathrow Airport (LHR) who will not pass through border control ('airside' transit); -Travelers who are dual citizens with British or Irish citizenship. Dual citizens must prove their permission to travel using a British passport, Irish passport, or other passport containing a certificate of entitlement to prove they have right of abode in the UK. Under temporary guidance, an expired British passport issued in 1989 or later, accompanied by a valid ETA-eligible passport with matching personal details, may also be accepted at carrier discretion. Travelers intending to travel on an expired British passport should confirm acceptance with their carrier before travel.
