  Travelers require a passport valid for at least 3 months after the traveler exits France

  Travelers need a valid passport to enter France. The traveler's passport must have been issued less than 10 years before the traveler's arrival date and remain valid for at least 3 months after the traveler's departure from France.

  Authorization to Leave the Territory for minors residing in France (AST)

  This requirement applies only to travelers under 18 who reside in France, whether French nationals or foreign nationals habitually resident in France. Those who reside in France and leave the country without a parent or holder of parental authority must carry an Authorization to Leave the Territory ("Autorisation de sortie du territoire"). The form is completed and signed by one parent or guardian, and requires no administrative validation. The minor must carry the signed original, a legible copy of the signing parent's identity document, and their own valid passport or ID card (depending on the destination requirements). The requirement applies whenever such a minor travels without a parent or guardian, regardless of destination. Always check with your airline, as they may have additional requirements for minors beyond standard rules.

  Entry/Exit System (EES) new digital passport control at European borders

  The EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is a new digital border process for non-EU nationals traveling for a short stay (up to 90 days within 180 days). No advance action is required. Travelers should allow additional time at passport control, especially during busy travel seasons. At passport control, travelers provide a facial photo and/or fingerprints. Passports are no longer stamped. Self-service kiosks may be available at some airports and border entries.

  Travelers need a visa to transit through France. Travelers must obtain a paper or embassy visa from an embassy, consulate or visa center before traveling.
