Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Cambodia e-Visa processing take?
Most e-Visas are approved within 1-3 business days. Apply at least a week before travel for safety. During peak seasons, processing may take slightly longer.
Can I extend my e-Visa in Cambodia?
Tourist e-Visas can be extended once for 30 days through travel agents in Cambodia (around $45-60). For longer stays, consider getting the Business visa which allows for extended renewals.
Is Visa on Arrival better than e-Visa?
VOA saves $6 but requires waiting in queue with USD cash ready. E-Visa is hassle-free and recommended, especially during busy seasons when VOA queues can exceed an hour.
How many days for Angkor Wat?
Minimum 3 days to see the main temples comfortably. 5-7 days for deeper exploration of the entire Angkor complex including remote temples like Beng Mealea and Koh Ker.
Is Cambodia safe for tourists?
Cambodia is generally safe for tourists. Petty theft exists — watch belongings in crowded areas. Siem Reap and major tourist areas are very safe. Use common sense precautions.
Do I need vaccinations for Cambodia?
No mandatory vaccinations, but hepatitis A, typhoid, and routine vaccines are recommended. Consider antimalarials for rural jungle areas if visiting remote regions.
What if my e-Visa application is rejected?
Rejections are rare but can happen due to incomplete documents or photo issues. You'll receive an explanation and can reapply after addressing the issue. DoVisa's pre-review minimizes rejection risk.
Can I apply for my whole family at once?
Each person needs their own e-Visa application. You can submit applications for all family members from one DoVisa account and track them together.
Is my payment secure?
DoVisa uses bank-level 256-bit SSL encryption and is PCI-DSS compliant. We never store your full card details. Payment options include major credit cards and PayPal.
How will I receive my approved e-Visa?
Once approved, your e-Visa is sent directly to your email as a PDF. Print it out and present at immigration. We also store it in your DoVisa account for easy access anytime.

Angkor Wat at sunrise is LIFE CHANGING! Get the 3-day pass minimum. E-visa was approved overnight — so easy!

Ta Prohm (the Tomb Raider temple) was my favorite. Those tree roots growing through ancient stone are surreal. Cambodia is magical.

Pro tip: hire a tuk-tuk driver for the whole day at Angkor. About $15-20 and they know all the best spots and times to avoid crowds!

Bring small USD bills! Everything is priced in dollars but they rarely have change. $1s and $5s are your best friends here.

Don't skip Phnom Penh! The Royal Palace, S-21 museum (powerful but important), and the food scene are amazing. Not just about temples!

How strict are they about dress code at temples? My wife has sleeveless dresses.

TN
Thatchaya N. Dec 17

They do check! Shoulders and knees should be covered at Angkor Wat and other major temples. Many visitors bring a light scarf or sarong to wrap around. Some temples have rental sarongs available at the entrance.

Is the street food safe to eat in Cambodia?

SC
Sarah Chen Dec 15

Yes! Just follow the locals — busy stalls mean fresh food. Pub Street in Siem Reap and Central Market in Phnom Penh have great options. The fish amok is incredible!

The Cambodian people are so warm and welcoming. Even with the difficult history, there's so much kindness. Visiting the Killing Fields was emotional but important.

Beng Mealea temple is worth the day trip from Siem Reap! Less crowded than Angkor and completely overgrown with jungle. Feels like Indiana Jones.

What's the best way to get from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh?

TN
Thatchaya N. Dec 12

You have several options! Giant Ibis bus is the most popular — comfortable, $15-18, takes about 6 hours with a rest stop. Domestic flights take 45 minutes for around $80-100. The bus journey goes through the countryside which is nice to see!

Budget travelers: Cambodia is so affordable! Stayed in nice guesthouses for $15/night, ate amazing food for $3-5, and even got a spa massage for $10. Paradise for your wallet.
