What Is the Cuba D'Viajeros Travel Form?

Cuba's D'Viajeros form has been mandatory for every traveler entering the country since 1 January 2022, run by the Ministry of Transport (MITRANS) together with Cuba's immigration, customs and public health authorities. It replaced three separate paper documents — the old Traveler's Health Declaration and the Customs Declaration for Passengers, both previously filled out on the plane or on arrival — with a single digital submission covering immigration, customs and health in one form.

Every traveler needs their own individual submission, with no exceptions for age: infants and young children each require a separate filing — there is no family or group form. The portal currently accepts submissions up to 7 days before arrival (older guidance cited 48–72 hours, and the window has changed before). One detail catches most people out: the form asks for your Cuba eVisa number, and the Migratory Information section cannot be completed without it — so arrange your eVisa first. After submitting you receive a QR code and PDF by email, shown at airline check-in and again on arrival in Cuba.

The government form itself is free of charge at the official portal dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu, and you can always file it yourself at no cost. Our charge is a service fee: we review your details against the current field requirements — the most common snag is a missing or mismatched eVisa number — file through the official MITRANS channel, and deliver your QR code and PDF before you fly.

Who Needs the D'Viajeros Form?

Who Needs It

  • Every traveler entering Cuba, regardless of nationality, visa status or length of stay
  • Infants and minors — each needs their own individual filing, submitted by a parent or guardian
  • Returning Cuban residents and dual nationals
  • Short-stay visitors and connections that clear Cuban immigration — there is no short-stay exemption

Who Is Exempt

  • None — every arriving traveler must submit their own D'Viajeros form

What You Need to Complete D'Viajeros

Passport Details Exactly as Printed

Full name, passport number, nationality and dates — entered exactly as they appear in the passport.

Flight Information

Airline, flight number and arrival date for the trip this form covers.

Cuba eVisa Number

A required field — the Migratory Information section cannot be completed without it. Arrange your Cuba eVisa (International Tourist Card) first.

Accommodation and Province

Your accommodation type and the province where you will be staying.

Reason for Travel and Email

Purpose of your trip, plus an email address you can open while traveling — the QR code and PDF are delivered there.

Cash Declaration

Amounts over USD 5,000 (or equivalent) must be declared in the customs section. Answer honestly — this is a formal declaration.

Travel Tips for Cuba Travelers

Most visitors land at José Martí International Airport (HAV) in Havana or the beach gateways of Varadero, Cayo Coco and Holguín — the D'Viajeros requirement is identical at every airport.

  • File inside the window — 2 to 3 days out is the sweet spot: the portal accepts submissions up to 7 days before arrival, but a buffer of a couple of days leaves room to fix anything before you fly.
  • Have the eVisa number ready first: the form will not let you finish without it. Get your Cuba eVisa, then file D'Viajeros — in that order.
  • One form per traveler, always: a family of four means four separate submissions, infants included. There is no family bundling.
  • Save the QR and PDF offline: screenshot the QR and keep the PDF on your phone — airline check-in will ask for it, and airport connectivity is not something to rely on.
  • Made a mistake? It is fixable: unusually for an arrival form, D'Viajeros submissions can be reopened via the portal's "Edit Form" function using the email verification code and your passport number — a corrected submission issues a new QR code.
  • Declare cash honestly: amounts over USD 5,000 belong in the customs declaration. An incorrect sworn declaration is a customs problem, not a paperwork problem.
