What Is the Belize Travel Declaration?
The Belize Travel Declaration is an official digital embarkation/disembarkation and customs declaration required by the Ministry of Immigration, Foreign Trade and Immigration for travellers arriving to or departing from Belize through international ports. Introduced as part of Belize’s digital migration to streamline arrival procedures, the online system launched in late 2024 and replaced many of the paper declaration cards previously handed out on flights. The government publishes the e-forms at the official Belize digital forms portal.
You can complete the declaration at belizetravel.immigration.gov.bz or use DoVisa for guided completion, document checks, and faster processing. After approval you receive an electronic confirmation delivered by email; save the confirmation and QR code for presentation at airline check-in (departure) and immigration/customs on arrival at the port of entry. Processing times vary by service level — Super Rush can be as fast as 30 minutes.
The Belize Travel Declaration is a pre-arrival/exit customs and immigration registration — it is not an entry visa. Visitors who require a visa must still obtain the appropriate visa or visitor’s permit; the declaration facilitates immigration and customs processing at the border. Recent policy changes in late 2024 moved Belize toward a fully digital embarkation/disembarkation system and the authorities now recommend completing the e-form before travel to avoid delays at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) and other entry points.
For full entry rules see Belize visa information and the official portal at belizetravel.immigration.gov.bz. Apply for your Belize Travel Declaration now to complete the digital form with guided help and optional denial protection.

Belize Entry Requirements & Restrictions
Passport Validity
Your passport should have an expiry date more than 3 months after your date of arrival. Some airlines ask for longer validity — check with your carrier before travel. Keep a photocopy of your passport and entry stamp.
Vaccination & Health Advice
No vaccinations are universally required for entry. Routine vaccines up to date are recommended. The CDC recommends Hepatitis A and other routine immunisations for travellers to Belize; consult your healthcare provider before travel. See CDC — Belize.
Customs & Prohibited Items
Belize enforces strict rules on prohibited and restricted imports including illegal drugs, weapons and explosives, counterfeit currency, and items regulated as biosecurity risks. Recent regulations also restrict certain plastic products. Declare goods as required on the customs section of the digital form. See Belize Customs — Prohibited & Restricted Goods.
Currency & Declarations
You must declare certain amounts of currency and monetary instruments on arrival and departure per Belize customs rules — follow the declaration prompts on the e-form and at the border. Contact Belize Customs for specifics before travel.
Travel Insurance & Medical Evacuation
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Medical facilities outside Belize City are limited and evacuation to Belize City may be required for serious conditions — ensure your policy covers adventure activities and emergency evacuation.
Travel Tips for Belize Visitors
Belize sits on the eastern coast of Central America and faces the Caribbean Sea. Most international visitors arrive at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) near Belize City. There are also international sea arrivals in Belize City and official land crossings to Guatemala and Mexico — complete the digital declaration before travel if you will clear immigration.
