What Is the Armenia Visitors Visa?
The Armenia Visitors Visa is an electronic visa (eVisa) issued through the official e-VISA Issuance System operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. The e-visa portal (https://evisa.mfa.am) lets eligible foreign nationals apply online rather than visiting a consulate. The system accepts visitor visa applications for tourism, family visits, short business trips, and medical stays and is designed to speed up consular processing compared with embassy-only routes.
You apply through the official MFA eVisa portal or via DoVisa for guided completion and document checks. After approval you receive an electronic visa to download and print (the MFA advises travellers to present the printed visa at immigration). Typical processing times range from 2 to 5 days depending on the service level; DoVisa offers Standard, Rush and Super Rush options and checks documents before submission to reduce errors.
The eVisa supplements Armenia’s visa-free and temporary exemption measures — it is a visa, not a travel permit or residency document. Note a temporary visa-exemption policy for certain residence-permit holders was introduced for 1 January to 1 July 2026; always confirm whether you need an eVisa before applying. The Armenia Visitors Visa does not replace entry clearance decisions taken at the border by immigration officers.
For full entry rules see Armenia visa information and the official portal at evisa.mfa.am. When you're ready, Apply now to start your eVisa application with expert help and optional denial protection.

Armenia Entry Requirements & Restrictions
Passport & Validity
Your passport must be valid at the time of entry and departure. Carry the passport bio-data page and related travel documents; some nationalities must present a return/onward ticket and proof of accommodation. See the MFA guidance at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vaccinations & Health
No vaccinations are mandatory for entry to Armenia, but routine immunisations (MMR, tetanus) and Hepatitis A are recommended. Check the CDC travel advice for Armenia at CDC Armenia before you travel.
Customs & Prohibited Items
Armenia restricts or prohibits the import of weapons and ammunition, narcotic and psychotropic substances, explosives and certain pharmaceutical products. Some consumer goods (including mercury-added products) face import bans or limits. Refer to official trade advisories at Trade.Gov Armenia.
Currency & Declarations
Currency declaration rules apply on entry and exit — declare amounts above the local threshold to customs. Check embassy and customs guidance for current declaration rules before departure.
Travel Insurance & Practical Notes
Travel insurance is strongly recommended — medical evacuation from remote regions can be costly. Print your eVisa approval and carry confirmed accommodation details; the MFA advises presenting the printed visa at immigration.
Travel Tips for Armenia Visitors
Armenia is an ancient, landlocked country in the South Caucasus. Most visitors arrive at Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) near Yerevan or Shirak/ Gyumri (LWN). The country offers dramatic mountain scenery, monasteries and a lively capital with a café culture.
- Best time to visit: Late spring and early autumn for hiking and sightseeing; winters are cold in the highlands.
- Currency: Armenian Dram (AMD) — US dollars (USD) are widely accepted at many hotels and tourist services but carry some AMD for local shops and taxis.
- Language: Armenian is the official language; English is commonly spoken in Yerevan and tourist areas.
- Time zone: GMT+4 — there is no daylight saving time.
- Airport transfers: Arrange transfers in advance from Zvartnots (EVN) — taxis and pre-booked shuttles serve Yerevan; check arrival times with your hotel.
- Border safety: Avoid areas near the Armenia–Azerbaijan border; consult foreign office travel advisories before travel.
- Local customs: Respect church etiquette at monasteries (cover shoulders, speak softly) and ask before photographing people in rural areas.
- Print your eVisa: Authorities recommend carrying a printed copy of your eVisa approval for immigration checks.
