Travelers who have been in the Uganda, or South Sudan within the 21 days prior to arrival cannot enter the United States, regardless of their departure point. This restriction is in effect from May 18, 2026 through July 13, 2026 in response to an outbreak of Ebola. This restriction does not apply to the following travelers: -US citizens and US nationals; -Members of the US armed forces, associated personnel, and their spouses and children; -US government personnel serving overseas, associated personnel, and their spouses and children. U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals who have been in Uganda or South Sudan within 21 days of arrival must enter through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) or Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) for enhanced health screening, and should monitor their health for 21 days after arrival. They should contact a healthcare provider if they develop symptoms including fever, weakness, vomiting, or diarrhea.
