  Electronic travel authorization

  Travelers who wish to transit through Sri Lanka require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). You must get an eTA before your flight. The Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is an online application. If approved, you'll receive your eTA confirmation electronically. If travelers receive a new passport, they must apply for a new eTA. For all other visas, visit the government site.

  • Travelers transiting through Sri Lanka for less than 8 hours do not require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).

  Parental consent for travelers under 16 entering Sri Lanka

  Travelers under 16 traveling alone are advised to carry their birth certificate and a parental consent letter signed by their parents. The letter must give consent for the child to travel unaccompanied or accompanied by a responsible adult.
