Medication clearance permit (controlled substances)
Travelers arriving in Saudi Arabia who are carrying medications containing narcotic or psychotropic substances must obtain a clearance permit from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) before arrival. This includes medications such as strong painkillers, sleeping pills, stimulants, and anti-anxiety drugs. Travelers can apply through the SFDA's Controlled Drugs System (CDS).
- This requirement doesn't apply to the following travelers: -Travelers carrying only non-controlled, over the counter medications or vitamins.
