All travelers arriving through Wattay International Airport (VTE), Luang Prabang International Airport (LPQ), Pakse International Airport (PKZ), and First Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge must complete an electronic travel declaration before traveling to Laos. Travelers must complete the form within 72 hours before arrival in Laos. Travelers unable to complete the form online can complete a paper form upon arrival.
- This requirement doesn’t apply to the following travelers: -Laos nationals; -Foreign permanent residents; -Travelers arriving or departing Laos through other ports of entry; -Thailand nationals with a valid Border Pass instead of a passport.

Travelers require a passport valid for at least 6 months from the time of entry
Travelers need a valid passport to enter Laos. The traveler's passport must remain valid for at least 6 months after the traveler arrives in Laos.
- Different requirements apply to travelers with a ‘Border Pass’ or ‘Temporary Border Pass’ beginning July 1, 2024. These travelers may enter Laos for a maximum of 10 days with a ‘Border Pass’ document.
