Not every traveller is asked for all of these. A valid passport is checked every time; the rest is a spot check at the border, and some items belong to a visa application rather than the crossing itself.

Travelers must have proof of accommodation during their stay in Colombia. If travelers will be hosted by a relative or friend, the host must provide a signed letter of invitation, stating the address and contact phone number. It should include the identification details of both the host and the traveler, and indicate whether the host will cover the traveler’s living expenses. Alternatively, the traveler may attach bank or credit card statements to demonstrate financial solvency.

Travelers who hold Colombian citizenship in addition to another nationality should enter and depart Colombia using a valid Colombian passport. Travelers arriving without a Colombian passport may enter by presenting proof of Colombian nationality, such as a national identity card, but may be required to obtain a Colombian passport before departing the country.
