International travelers don’t need a visa to transit through Australia for less than 8 hours. International travelers transiting through Australia for more than 8 hours need a visa. Some Australian airports have limited transit facilities. Travelers are encouraged to view the link for more details on the transit facilities of the airport they are transiting through. To transit through Australia without a visa, travelers must meet the following criteria: -Travelers must have a confirmed ticket to leave Australia to travel to a third country for a maximum of 8 hours after the arrival; -Travelers must stay in the airport’s international transit area; -Travelers must have the required documents for the next destination. Travelers who pass through immigration need a visa.
