What Is the Trinidad and Tobago Travel Pass?

The Trinidad and Tobago Travel Pass is a mandatory pre-arrival registration that was introduced in 2021 to centralise health and entry screening for inbound travellers to Trinidad and Tobago. Managed through the government's TTravel Pass portal, the system replaced earlier ad-hoc arrival checks and helped ports of entry confirm test or vaccination status and contact details before passengers travel.

Apply via the official portal at ttravelpass.gov.tt or use DoVisa for guided completion with a document check. After approval you receive an emailed confirmation and a QR code to present at airline check-in and immigration on arrival; airlines operating from your origin may verify the QR at departure. Typical documents required include passport details, flight information, and any required test or vaccination certificates.

The Trinidad and Tobago Travel Pass is a pre-arrival clearance document — not a visa — and does not guarantee entry. Immigration officers at the port of entry retain final authority. Since launch, some requirements have been updated: the initial emergency-era measures (including specific quarantine orders) have been relaxed, but the Travel Pass remains the entry screening tool when it is reactivated for public-health reasons. Check the official portal for active requirements.

For full entry rules see Trinidad and Tobago visa information and the government portal at ttravelpass.gov.tt. Apply for your Trinidad and Tobago Travel Pass now.

Trinidad and Tobago Entry Requirements & Restrictions

Passport & Validity

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival or for the duration of your stay. Ensure you have at least one blank page for an entry stamp. See the Ministry guidance at Immigration FAQs.

Vaccination & Health Screening

No routine vaccination is mandatory for all travellers, but a yellow fever certificate is required if you arrive from or transited recently through a yellow-fever risk area. Check current health advice at the CDC Trinidad and Tobago page.

Customs Restrictions & Prohibited Items

Trinidad and Tobago prohibits importing explosives, ammunition, controlled narcotics, poisons and other restricted goods without licences. Foodstuffs and gifts must be declared on arrival on the Immigration/Customs form. See details at Trinidad & Tobago Customs.

Return Ticket & Funds

Officers may ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket and proof of sufficient funds for your stay. If staying longer than a visitor period, apply for an extension via the Passport & Immigration Department. See guidance at Ministry of Foreign & CARICOM Affairs.

Medicines & Restricted Imports

If you travel with prescription medicines, carry the prescription and declare controlled medication at customs. Consult customs and health pages before travel to avoid confiscation or delays.

Travel Tips for Trinidad and Tobago Visitors

Trinidad and Tobago comprises two main islands with vibrant culture, Carnival traditions, and busy ports. Most international flights arrive at Piarco International Airport (POS) near Port of Spain or A.N.R. Robinson/Crown Point (TAB) on Tobago; small marinas and Chaguaramas Bay accept international yachts and ferries.

  • Best time to visit: December–May (drier season).
